But without further ado let’s take a look at Pogo Sketch vs. BoxWave Capacitive vs. the Griffin Stylus:

As promised here are the dimensions of each of the styluses that we looked at in the video:

  • POGO SKETCH:  1/4″ Diameter x 4-3/4″  - Aluminum Body with Porous Sponge Tip and Plastic Clip
  • BOXWAVE CAPACITIVE:  I just discovered in measuring the BoxWave stylus you saw me demo in the video is that this is the BoxWave STYRA, which has a ballpoint PEN hidden under the clip end! Pretty COOL!  So the dimensions for the
  • BOXWAVE STYRA:  5/16″ Diameter x 4-3/4″ – Aluminum Body with Rubber-Domed Tip and Metal Clip that hides Ballpoint-Pen
  • BOXWAVE UNIVERSAL:  5/16″ Diameter x 4-3/8″ – Aluminum Body with Rubber-Domed Tip and Metal Clip
  • GRIFFIN STYLUS:  5/16″ Diameter x 4-3/8″ – Aluminum Body with Rubber-Domed Tip and Metal Clip

My conclusions after using all three (3) Styluses?  If I were to go back and buy just one of the styluses reviewed I would personally buy the BoxWave Strya.  This stylus feels good in my hand; light for use but substantial at the same time.  I like the little added length the ballpoint-pen adds to the overall length as it makes it feel like a real writing pen as I use it.  I have never had it skip on me and makes consistently uniform lines.

The Pogo Sketch, while functional, had a tendency to skip small parts of letters when writing in Notes Plus. I think its because of the material the tip is made of,which is totally different than the other styluses reviewed. It’s difficult to describe, as you saw in the video, but I am just not as thrilled with it after using the other two. I also thought, since I have a small (size 5 ring finger) woman’s hand, that I would like the thinner barrel of the Pogo, but I do not, and cannot imagine a man’s hand wrapped around it for general writing… although one might like it for sketching as one might tend to hold the barrel differently when utilizing it that way.

The Griffin is almost identical to the BoxWave and pretty much interchangeable with it.  If someone handed me both a BoxWave Universal and a Griffin stylus with their identities masked I would not be able to differentiate between the two.  The only difference between them is that BoxWave offers more models to choose from and I like the idea of having the option of carrying a pen and stylus in one device, which is only available in the BoxWave line.
