...an Apps for iPads Review

Just a few short weeks ago we welcomed a wonderful new grandson into our family. His name is Max and we all love him to death!

Dawn, of Dawn K Apps, was nice enough to send me her It’s a Grandson and It’s a Son birth announcement apps for myself and my daughter who was about to deliver at the time. We used her apps on both our iPads and iPhones to send out wonderful announcements so that everyone could know when our bundle of joy joined us!

The app is very easy to use. It presents you with simple screens and you just fill in the information. First thing you are going to want to do is pick which of many frames you want to showcase your info and baby’s picture in. You will find that the app gives you everything from blue, and pink (yes pink, so you could use one for a girl too), gold, silver and photo backgrounds. When moving on to the next screen you will tap on a series of buttons that will prompt you to fill in your baby’s name, the date and time of birth, how big he/she is, a greeting of some type (again they use boy-specific, general “Introducing” type salutations as well as “It’s a Girl!” at the bottom of the list) and then you are prompted for a picture. You can take a picture or choose one from your Photo app.

Once you have filled in all the information and tap on Next you will see the finished product as it will appear to your friends and family. You can always go back and change anything you wish. Once you have it exactly how you would like it just tap on the Email button. You will be presented with the normal email format you are used to so just fill in all the email addresses (it’s tied to your device’s email account so it will auto-fill for you) and send your announcement to the world!

They even have It’s TWINS! This one IS a special app as it allows you to put in BOTH babies’ stats side by side… but at only $0.99 it is a steal! Actually, it’s probably the cheapest thing twins will ever cost you!  They actually have another called “It’s a Sister!” too, but you can see how we adapted ours on the fly. Whether you modify or buy individual apps you cannot go wrong at the inexpensive price.
