Many of you may be familiar with the name Selectsoft as a developer of gaming apps. We recently learned that they also have other lines of apps, including ones that deal with sports and hobbies. We were given the opportunity to test out two such apps; Fencing for Fun and Sport Fishing Guide.

We found both apps we tested to be of high quality, something one expects from Selectsoft and we were not disappointed. Each chapter is headed by a very well made video on top of  the text that gives all the major points included in the lesson. Each chapter also includes a quiz so you can determine if you have learned the lesson.

FENCING FOR FUN:

While no one is going to learn to fence from reading a book, ebook or otherwise they give a good overview of the sport so that you can determine if it’s something you want to pursue further. You can also use the videos as a reference guide while taking lessons.

We feel that given the quality and content included in these two apps for iPads, iPhone and iPod Touch that we would be comfortable buying any of the Selectsoft hobby/sport apps. At less than the cost of a magazine in either hobby you get lots of information as well as videos, something you obviously won’t find in print.
