... an Apps for iPads Review!
When was the last time your kid said “No one goes to bed at 8 o’clock anymore! Besides I am older, I should get to stay up later than him her or them” We all remember our kids saying that, whether it was last night or years ago. Remember saying it to your parents?
Thanks for joining us for our 2nd in our Oceanhouse Media omBook week-long series! Today we take a look at The Berenstain Bears’ Bedtime Battle app for iPads. It’s a classic tale brought to life on your iPad for a new generation!
When the sun sets in Bear Country, the birds and squirrels and ladybugs gather round the treehouse to watch the Bear Family’s great bedtime battle. It begins when Papa Bear says, “It’s eight o’ clock, cubs. Time for bed.” But Brother and Sister Bear will do anything to postpone their bedtime. After all, who wants to go to bed when you can play with dinosaurs, have a tea party, and get piggy back rides?
Be sure to stick with us “after the break” to see our exclusive video-review and all the wonderful options included in this iPad app!
The Berenstain Bears’ Bedtime Battle is in the top 10 paid book apps on iPad – August 2011 in the Apple App store for a reason. At just over half of what you’d pay for this same book as a traditional sticker book you get a fully interactive eBook that reads to your child and teaches them to read!
We love that each word is highlighted as it’s read by the professional narrator. When you turn off the narration, allowing your child to “Read it Myself” they can simply tap on any word they stumble over to hear it said. They can also tap on a paragraph to hear it read out loud so that they may hear how the words should flow naturally into sentences. Your child will be reading in no time!
Every Oceanhouse Media app gives kids the opportunity to:
“Read to Me” — listen to the narrated story with words highlighted as they are read- “Read it Myself” — read the book in its traditional form
- “Auto Play” — plays like a movie, automatically reading and turning pages. Great for younger children!
- Picture / Word association — words zoom up and are spoken when pictures are touched
- Individual words highlight and are read aloud when tapped Professional audio narration
- Custom background audio for each scene
- Pages pan & zoom to accentuate the beautiful, original art of the Berenstains
- This ‘Universal App’ is optimized for Retina displays and the iPad
